Overview

APEC Mentoring Center for the Gifted in Science (AMGS) is one of the long term projects in APEC-PPSTI supported by the Korean government, Ministry of Science and ICT.
We would like to make a constructive relationship between teen researchers, as mentees, with the passion but less experience in science and experts, as mentors, with more-experienced in various areas of ST&I. Mentors become trusted advisers and role models because they are the ones whom the teen researchers would like to follow for their future career path. Mentors support and encourage their mentees by offering suggestions and communicating knowledge, both general and specific.

Mentors and mentees could be the one near you.
However, AMGS would like to expand this relationship to APEC region to contribute and flourish the future development of this area, and the world. For example, a mentee who lives in Indonesia can meet the mentor in the University of Maryland, the USA, who can give him or her an in-depth knowledge and experienced advice in the field of High-temperature air combustion. Someday, the young researcher will be the expert in the field like the mentor and look forward to find their mentees. It is AMGS’s ultimate goal to make a co-research, international conference and various mentoring activities for the teen researchers interested in ST&I.
We would like to invite you to AMGS Cross Mentoring Research Activity(APEC CMRA)!

Purpose

Teen researchers are eager to improve their knowledge and skills in their interest subjects. Similarly, scientists, as well as science educators, would like to communicate and help young students, who would like to join the same field later. So, AMGS makes online space where they can meet in the space based on IT infrastructure and carry out research activity in their field of interest. It can be rewarding to both of them, personally and professionally.
At the end, mentees contribute their research articles as a result of online mentoring research activities to APEC Youth Scientist Journal.
